Mantrazone staking
MANTRA Zone lets holders delegate native MANTRA to validators that help secure MANTRA Chain. Commission rates, displayed annual percentage rates (APR) and staking volume help inform validator choice. Unstaking places the selected amount into an unbonding period before it becomes available in the wallet, with no rewards on that amount during the wait.
· last updated- Prerequisites
- A MANTRA Chain wallet, such as Keplr, with MANTRA in it.
Validator selection
The active-validator list shows commission rates, APR and staking volume. Compare the commission alongside the displayed APR when considering rewards. Staking volume describes the amount staked with a validator; it measures a different property from an annual percentage rate. Rewards are variable and are not guaranteed.
MANTRA Chain’s Weekly Transparency Report 21 lists an 8-day unbonding period for the week ending October 4, 2026. Coins that you need to spend by a particular date require planning around the applicable unbonding duration, even if a validator’s displayed rate looks attractive.
Delegation through MANTRA Zone
The MANTRA staking guide describes the native delegation process:
- Connect the MANTRA Chain wallet to the staking interface.
- Select an active validator after reviewing its details. For an existing delegation, the documented Stake More option adds funds to that validator.
- Enter the amount of MANTRA to stake, then review the balance, staking position and validator details.
- Accept the interface’s risk disclosures, terms and conditions and privacy policy before proceeding.
- Confirm the staking transaction in the wallet. The guide describes a confirmation message with transaction details, including a hash for viewing the transaction in an explorer.
Reward claims and additional staking
The staking dashboard enables Claim when rewards are claimable. A position’s Claim Rewards option lets you claim from a specific validator. The claim summary identifies which validators the rewards come from.
Claim & Stake offers a way to stake the claimed rewards by following the staking process. Claiming rewards and adding them to a delegation are separate choices in that process.
Redelegation and unstaking
- Redelegation
- Moves staked MANTRA from one validator to another. The documented process selects the existing validator, a new validator and the amount to move, followed by confirmation in the wallet.
- Unstaking
- Requests withdrawal of a selected amount from a validator’s staking position. The amount becomes available in the wallet after the unbonding period and earns no rewards during that period.
Redelegation suits a change of validator while keeping coins staked. Unstaking serves the need to make coins available in the wallet after unbonding. Neither action needs to apply to the entire staking position: both processes let you enter an amount.
A partial unstake for spending
A hypothetical holder needs part of a delegation back for spending. Hypothetical starting stake: 386 MANTRA. Hypothetical amount to unstake: 126 MANTRA. With no other changes to the delegation, a successful unstaking transaction leaves
386 - 126 = 260 MANTRA
delegated to the validator, while 126 MANTRA enter unbonding.
The 126 MANTRA earn no rewards during unbonding and become available after that period ends. Redelegating that same amount would leave it staked with another validator, so it would not produce the spendable balance that this holder needs.
